We Do Things Different Over Here
August 5, 2020Every day we are told by patients that we do things different than other chiropractors they have visited. We agree. And this is why… We take the time to listen to your concerns, and we understand movement. We don’t simply give you a quick adjustment, we look at how you move to determine the root cause of your problem. This seems like a simple concept; unfortunately, understanding dysfunctional movement is a very complicated task, one that even the most experienced doctor or therapist may not fully grasp. The result is a “one size fits all” treatment plan that helps many patients, but leaves others dissatisfied.
What Causes Dysfunctional Movement?
Dysfunctional movement can be caused by a multitude of issues. It may be caused by poor posture, an alignment problem in the spine, scoliosis, an arch problem in your foot, a short leg, an arthritic neck, hip or knee and/or tight or weak muscles in the shoulders, hips or lower back. Dysfunctional movement can create pain in other parts of the body and can then lead to overuse injuries such as sprains and strains, herniated or bulging discs, and stress fractures.
The Van Ness Chiropractic Difference
At Van Ness Chiropractic, we do things different. We specialize in chronic and difficult cases and realize that managing pain and dysfunctional movement is not one size fits all. We believe that a detailed history, spinal x-rays (if necessary) and a comprehensive movement assessment are crucial to determining the root of pain and dysfunction. Once the dysfunction is determined, we have the tools, staff and training to offer targeted treatment and patient education that is effective and empowering.
