Fascial Stretch Therapy™
What if the source of your chronic pain isn’t detectable through an X-Ray or MRI? The common factor between movement dysfunction, pain, and the lingering effects of old injuries is often poor connective tissue health.
Fascia (connective tissue) is the most prevalent tissue in the body – yet it is the least understood by your doctor, therapist, and trainer. Fascia surrounds muscles, bones, and joints and is considered an organ of structure – it is what shapes our posture and alignment. Treatment approaches often focus on muscles (massage) or joints (physical therapy) but do not address the structural imbalances that are held in place by the connective tissue. If you have ever wondered why one shoulder is higher than the other or why your shoulder clicks when you raise your arm overhead – it may be a restriction in the connective tissue that is the source of the misalignment or impaired movement.
Restricted fascia can decrease joint space (causing degenerative joint diseases and osteoarthritis) and lead to trigger points, chronic muscle tightness, and tendonitis. Fascial Stretch Therapy™ is the perfect compliment to chiropractic treatment. Sessions are performed on a massage table with straps to immobilize the part of the body not being worked on. This gentle style of stretching targets the fascia, while decreasing nervous system tension and decompressing the joint-capsule to restore your range of motion.
FST™ has helped some of the best athletes to break records and helped teams to win championships. FST™ has been used by heavyweight champion Mike Tyson, UFC champion Frank Mir, football players (Emmit Smith, Kurt Warner, Donovan McNabb), Olympic medalists (Kurt Engle), Ultraman winner Kevin Cutjar, and many more! Many people have used it to prevent surgery and eliminate chronic pain.
